* * Position Summary
** This position provides transportation services for university employees, students,  visitors, and faculty while ensuring transportation services and passenger safety.  Monitors equipment and performs limited maintenance.

** Duties & Responsibilities
**** ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
*** Drives a college-owned bus, providing safe and efficient transportation to the college
* community and its visitors.
* Performs routine vehicle inspection and maintenance including checking the oil, fuel, brakes,
* lights, windshield wipers, and water and tire pressures.
* Provides information and other general assistance to the college community and its visitors.
* Maintains DOT approved logbook hours of work performed; makes timely reports of
* accidents, incidents, and unusual occurrences.
* Must comply with Department of Transportation regulations and departmental policies and
* procedures.
* Reliable and committed to driving scheduled game dates.
* Performs other duties as assigned
** REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
*** Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking
* oil and water levels
* Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
* Ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded passenger bus
* Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and meet deadlines;
* Ability to work as a team or independently.
** WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL FACTORS
*** Exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push pull or otherwise move
* objects and lifting greater than fifty (50) pounds occasionally and sitting most of the time.
* Driving long hours, standing, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, and kneeling
* frequently.
* Some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety
* precautions.
* Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme
* temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
** EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
*** High school diploma or GED is required.
* A valid New Mexico CDL Class A and B Passenger Endorsement License is
* required.
* Two (2) years of practicing experience is required.
