Title: Quality Food and Safety Manager
Location: Onsite in Fairfax County, VA
Job Type: Full-Time | Exempt
Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 / year
Benefits: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Key Responsibilities- Own and enhance the SQF Food Safety Program (Level 2 or
3), with responsibility for improving audit readiness, execution, and outcomes - Lead HACCP / Food Safety Plan development and ongoing validation for bakery operations
- Drive improvements in allergen control, GMPs, sanitation, and documentation accuracy
- Prepare for and lead SQF, customer, and regulatory audits, ensuring timely and effective corrective actions
- Conduct internal audits and gap assessments to proactively identify and address risks
- Strengthen traceability, recall readiness, and mock recall performance Improve supplier approval, ingredient verification, and packaging compliance programs
- Partner with Operations, Sanitation, and Maintenance to ensure food safety is built into daily production
- Lead root cause analysis and CAPA to prevent repeat non-conformances
- Train and coach team members to reinforce accountability and a strong food safety culture
- Monitor and trend quality and food safety KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of food safety and quality leadership experience in a bakery or food manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading SQF audits and driving improved audit results
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP, FSMA, GMPs, allergen management, and sanitation programs
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence change in a fast-paced production environment
- PCQI certification
- SQF Practitioner or Lead Auditor experience
- Experience turning around or strengthening food safety programs
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
