About the Role:

As a CBRE Robotics Technician
, you’ll be responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of automation systems deployed at various client data centers.

The Tier 1 technician is expected to be a generalist, with multi-disciplinary skills and knowledge including electrical and mechanical equipment assessment.

This position is located on-site in Sterling, Virginia.

This job is part of the Material Handling job function. They are responsible for the incoming and outgoing movement and storage of raw materials, finished products, and parts.

What You’ll Do
  • Install, repair, and test complex manufacturing systems to maintain process efficiency.
  • Review technical specifications and perform scheduled and preventive maintenance of mechatronic systems, modules, and components.
  • Troubleshoot, identify, and repair large equipment and systems to prevent problems and failures.
  • Work with machine operators to detect equipment problems, identify malfunctions, and verify system problems.
  • Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets.
  • Direct and/or assist other technicians in conducting Operational Readiness Site Walks to verify that the Nav System (floor taping and geotags) are in good repair. Complete, verify, and document repairs.
  • Spot-check all automation equipment – including support equipment – to assure readiness and good repair.
  • Comply with CBRE and Client quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Create and follow a schedule that encompasses all site equipment within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Function as a first responder to triage robotics and automation operational issues, following well-defined and structured troubleshooting procedures ("playbooks") developed by the Client.
  • Respond within agreed-upon time-frame to production requests for assistance with in-production equipment recovery or repair. Lead or direct Technician I in making more involved or comprehensive repairs.
  • Perform Preventative and Predictive maintenance and calibrations of existing equipment of the systems per well-defined schedules and procedures in place at the time the contract is initiated. Document all actions with machine , actions performed per defined documentation, and date/duration.
  • Provide mechanical and control system onsite technical support and troubleshooting for existing automated equipment.
  • Act as the site SME (subject-matter expert) on site equipment as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager
  • Assist with moving materials and equipment for automation
  • Communicate with machine operators and engineering to troubleshoot issues.
  • Document issues and issue resolution within the Client’s system (Buganizer, EAM)
  • Lead in continuous improvement efforts, corrective action formulation, and root-cause investigation when necessary.
  • Document machine history and operational observations
  • Complete training requirements as communicated by CBRE and Manager.
  • Maintain certifications required to perform maintenance and sustainability efforts as directed by Manager.
  • Complete CBRE/Manager-assigned administrative tasks in an expeditious and conscientious manner
  • Creates and submits Access Request Forms and GUTs tickets to facilitate site entry and material movement
  • Act as site liaison with operational groups, DCOps, EHS, and Site Manager. Communicate immediately with Supervisor or directly with Manager when operational or scope questions arise.
  • Use communication skills to exchange straightforward information.
  • Use existing procedures to solve straightforward problems while having a limited opportunity to exercise discretion.
  • Impact through clearly defined duties, methods, and tasks are described in detail.
  • Deliver own output by following defined procedures and processes under close supervision and guidance.
