Shipping and Receiving Specialist

Rugged Logic is looking for a Shipping and Receiving professional to be a part of our growing company. We specialize in the design and manufacturing of communication and power products for remote use in environmentally harsh conditions, such as aircraft, maritime, and mobile applications. Our services support the custom needs of our clients through product design, engineering analysis, and software design.

The successful candidate will balance the ability to independently solve challenging logistics problems with the ability to excel as a critical member of a small team in a fast-paced environment. While the primary focus of this role is managing the flow of goods, because we are a small company, this individual will be a "jack-of-all-trades" within our Operations department, assisting with everything from purchasing to product assembly.

• Logistics Management: Manage all incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and protection of sensitive electronic components.
• Import/Export Compliance: Prepare and manage international shipping documentation, ensuring compliance with all import/export regulations and customs requirements.
• Operational Support: Assist with purchasing activities and monitor inventory levels to avoid material shortages.
• Inventory Control: Perform stocking and kitting of parts to support the production schedule.
• Production Assistance: Pitch in with basic product assembly and testing during peak production periods.
• Quality Assurance: Perform final checks on outgoing packages to ensure products are delivered to customers in perfect condition.
• Facility Maintenance: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse and shipping area, adhering to all quality requirements.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate digital and physical records of all receipts and shipments.

• Education: High School Diploma or General Education Diploma.
• Experience: Proven experience in shipping and receiving, specifically including the preparation of import/export documentation.

• Familiarity with international shipping standards and customs forms.
• Experience with logistics software (e.g., Fed Ex Ship Manager, UPS World Ship).
• Great attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work to an established schedule and pivot between tasks as needed.
• Basic mechanical aptitude (experience with hand tools or soldering is a plus).
