Responsibilities- Lead daily accessioning operations for the Chantilly VA branch, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and compliance in a high-volume production environment.
- Responsible for the leadership and mentoring of 4 direct people leaders and 60+ indirect team members.
- Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn and independently operate laboratory systems and workflows within defined onboarding timelines.
- Maintain consistent professional conduct, including punctuality, engagement during training, and appropriate workplace behavior.
- Provide direct leadership, coaching, and accountability for supervisors and frontline staff.
- Ensure timely completion of operational tasks, reporting, and end‑of‑shift responsibilities.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff and leadership; deliver accurate updates and follow through on commitments.
- Maintain focus on assigned responsibilities, demonstrate strong time management, and adapt to operational needs, including extended or non‑standard hours.
- Maintain productivity standards, quality assurance metrics and proper staffing for all departments.
- Enforce and maintain staff compliance, company policies and standard operating procedures.
- Responsible for managing the P&L for the department.
- Manage and evaluate performance of leaders and team members.
- Organize workflow to meet production specifications and deadlines.
- Work with various functional areas within division to identify and implement process improvement.
- Enforce health and safety regulations to ensure compliance.
- Communicate any problems or obstacles to senior management.
Monday - Friday 3pm - 12am (hours vary) Saturdays and Sundays as needed (must be flexible)
Requirements- Bachelor's degree or higher required
- Minimum 5 years of management or supervisory experience required
- Ability to effectively coach and develop leaders to effect change and create a continually improving supply chain.
- Strong working knowledge of a high-volume production operation.
- Strong working knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal.
- High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain operational pace.
- Familiarity with laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures are preferred.
- Willingness and flexibility to work extended or non‑standard hours based on operational needs
- Ability to work at a sustained fast pace, with prolonged walking/standing and regular lifting up to 40 pounds throughout the shift.
