Description

The position is for a Tech Lead for the enterprise PKI program. The Tech Lead will work with a team of engineers, developers, cybersecurity engineers, system architects, and testers. Core business hours are typically from 9 AM – 3 PM, five days a week. Hours can be flexible for early arrivals, late departures, and occasional after‑hours or weekend work to accommodate system deployments and upgrades.

While not required, knowledge of PKI and understanding of digital certificates, certificate authorities, registration authorities, key management, cryptographic algorithms, certificate revocation procedures, and trust models is highly desirable. The ability to design a robust system to issue, manage, and revoke digital certificates while ensuring integrity and authenticity of users and entities within a network is desirable.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance to the team’s system engineers and developers
  • Provide status updates to the contract PMO and government staff lead
  • Assist in completing monthly program management review (PMR) charts
  • Represent the team at staff meetings, requirements meetings, tech lead meetings, and TEMs
  • Represent the team at community‑wide working groups and coordinate the customer’s response to action items
  • Shepherd new requirements through the customer’s requirements process/pipeline
  • Ensure designs are compatible with the architecture and security requirements
  • Work with the team’s security engineer to address/mitigate security findings from system security scans
  • Prepare communications for upcoming releases
  • Work with the government staff lead and project team lead to prioritize work
  • Work with all cloud service providers to meet their PKI requirements
  • Research new technologies/products that help increase the overall authentication security posture for customer systems
Mandatory Requirements
  • Developmental (0-2 years’ experience)
  • Full Performance (3-5 years’ experience)
  • Senior (6-10 years’ experience)
  • Expert (11-15 years’ experience)
  • SME (16+ years’ experience)
  • Typically requires a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree and relevant experience as follows:
  • Minimum of 15 years of demonstrable experience
  • Significant experience with system architecture and engineering
  • Familiarity with the customer’s enterprise systems
  • Working knowledge of PKI certificates
  • Significant experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft, Google, and/or Oracle)
  • Strong, hands‑on experience with Linux (CLI)
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages like BASH and Python
  • Experience working on teams utilizing Agile workflows and processes
  • Experience with JIRA
Optional Requirements
  • Experience with public key infrastructure (PKI) and understanding of key concepts like digital certificates, certificate authorities, registration authorities, key management practices, cryptographic algorithms, certificate revocation procedures, and trust chains
  • Experience working with Cloud Formation / Puppet / Groovy, or other configuration and automation tools
  • Experience with relational databases (Postgre
