Overview
This role involves supervising, coordinating, designing, developing, and implementing enhancements to network hardware, infrastructure server environments, operating systems, and attached devices. The position requires providing technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, planning new network infrastructure, and maintaining system standards. The incumbent will serve as a technical expert across multiple project assignments, with responsibilities including systems management, technical consultation, and overseeing interoperability and certification processes.
Education& Certification Requirements
A bachelor’s degree is required, with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Candidates should possess sufficient knowledge to lead major technology assignments and evaluate performance results effectively.
Clearance RequirementsTS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph is required for this position.
Onsite RequirementsThis role is based on-site at a government site in Chantilly.
Responsibilities- Supervise, coordinate, and perform additions and modifications to network hardware, infrastructure servers, and operating systems.
- Investigate, analyze, and recommend configurations and installations for new network hardware and software.
- Provide direct support for network hardware and operating system operations, including system utilization evaluation and operational problem resolution.
- Troubleshoot at physical and logical network levels, working with measurement hardware, software, and communication protocols.
- Participate in planning, design, technical review, and implementation of new network infrastructure hardware and network operating systems for voice and data communication.
- Manage systems and perform integration functions, including maintaining standards for network communication protocols such as TCP/IP.
- Offer technical consultation, training, and support to IT staff as designated by the government.
- Diagnose and resolve complex communication problems and oversee system certification, patching, and interoperability issues.
- Develop strategies for client/server environments, advise on technology purchases, and set standards for database and system architecture.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in system engineering or related roles.
- Extensive knowledge of Kubernetes, Nutanix, and Terraform environments.
- Proficiency in virtualization technologies and network administration.
- Experience with network hardware, operating systems, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to lead technical projects and provide expert-level troubleshooting and system integration support.
- Strong understanding of network communication protocols and security considerations.
- Experience with system certification and accreditation processes.
- Familiarity with storage and backup systems along with client/server environment design.
- Knowledge of advanced network troubleshooting tools and techniques.
- Skills in designing scalable and interoperable network architectures.
- Ability to advise on future technology projects and system upgrades.
