We are seeking a strong, cleared Service Now Developer to support the transition and ongoing management of an enterprise Service Now platform. This role will focus on platform development, portal enhancements, and day-to-day operations and maintenance across multiple Service Now modules. The ideal candidate is a hands-on generalist with experience supporting Agile delivery teams and collaborating closely with technical and business stakeholders.
Scope of Work
- Take over management and development of the Service Now platform
- Support the analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of technical capabilities
- Provide development support to the Technical Lead and other Service Now Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify, define, and document:
- Detailed requirements
- Use cases
- Technical solutions
- Support typical Operations & Maintenance (O&M) activities
- Manage and resolve incidents and problems in alignment with ITSM best practices
- IT Service Management (ITSM)
- IT Operations Management (ITOM)
- Customer Service Management (CSM)
- Redesign and update the client-facing Service Now portal
- Improve overall portal functionality and user experience
- Implement UI, workflow, and usability enhancements
- Ensure portal solutions align with business and user needs
- Work within an Agile Scrum framework
- Actively participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including:
- Sprint planning
- Daily stand-ups
- Backlog grooming
- Sprint reviews and retrospectives
- Support iterative development and continuous improvement
- 3-4 years of hands-on Service Now development experience
- Strong JavaScript development skills
- Experience across:
- ITSM
- ITOM
- Customer Service Management
- Portal and UI development experience is a strong plus
- Ability to work across the Service Now platform as a generalist
- Experience supporting Agile Scrum projects
- Active clearance required
- Service Now System Administrator certification - required
- Service Now Certified Application Developer (CAD) - nice to have
(Required for some senior roles) - Bachelor's degree - nice to have
- Relevant Service Now certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team environment
- Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Comfortable supporting both development and operational responsibilities
