Senior Network Engineer

Senior Network Engineer – MANTECH, Chantilly, VA

We are seeking a motivated, career and customer‑oriented Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA.

• Maintain the network fabric of the ITD IT system architecture.
• Remain well‑versed in a multi‑vendor environment for layer 2/3 switching and routing, firewalls, SAN directors, and virtual and cloud‑hosted networking Geral und Technologies.
• Install, configure, and maintain entire physical networking infrastructure including firewalls and core/distribution/access switches and routers.
• Utilize network monitoring applications for traffic, access, and performance of the entire network.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or other IT‑related discipline AND 7+ years of relevant experience in information technology, leveraging software applications and tools to meet customer requirements.
• Associate’s degree and 10 years of relevant experience in information technology if a bachelor’s is not available.
• Current DoD 8570 IAT II certification (CCNA or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 180 days.
• Experience performing maintenance and upgrades of networks, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Demonstrated ability to configure routers, switches, and firewalls with appropriate network‑engineering and communications protocols.
• Experience providing innovative methods and technical solutions to ensure network performance.

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI with polygraph.

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Occasional movement within the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
• Frequently communicate with co‑workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
