ResponsibilitiesThis role is the outward-facing driver for Intelligent MBSE, an AI-enabled MBSE capability. The Senior Director of Product Strategy is responsible for turning demand (marketing leads, customer interest, and strategic pursuits) into qualified pilot programs, converting pilots into production usage, and accelerating the transition from IRAD to a revenue-generating product. The role blends product strategy, technical credibility, customer engagement, sales support, and thought leadership.
- Own outward product strategy for Intelligent MBSE: target customers, priority use cases, adoption path, differentiation, and messaging.
- Execute pilot‑to‑production motion: qualify leads, scope pilots, define success criteria, drive onboarding/usage milestones, and support conversion to funded production work.
- Lead customer engagement: executive briefings, demos, workshops, and ongoing relationships with DoD/government customers and select industry partners.
- Support sales and business development: shape opportunities with Growth/Capture, build sales enablement assets (talk tracks, demo scripts, pilot one‑pagers), and help move deals forward.
- Lead/support proposals: contribute to small customer proposals and major prime bids (solution approach, discriminators, pilot‑to‑production plans, technical narrative).
- Lead/support whitepapers and RFIs: develop clear, technically credible responses that create pull for pilots and influence requirements.
- Represent STC externally: conference presentations, webinars, customer events, and thought leadership content that drives qualified interest.
- Provide technical credibility: serve as a senior technical voice across AI‑enabled engineering, systems engineering, MBSE/SysML, and secure deployment/cyber considerations.
- Translate market signal into roadmap inputs: capture customer feedback, competitive intel, and adoption blockers and feed prioritized recommendations to leadership.
- Track traction and report out: maintain visibility into pilot pipeline, conversion status, adoption metrics, and key learnings for leadership and the product team.
- BS 16‑18, MS 14+, PhD 10+
- Demonstrated success in a customer‑facing role that blends product strategy with execution (examples: product strategy lead, solutions architect, technical BD, product GTM for engineering software, mission engineering lead).
- Strong depth across systems engineering and MBSE concepts, with credibility briefing both technical teams and senior stakeholders.
- Strong AI product literacy, including practical understanding of LLM/RAG‑style workflows, limitations, and how to position AI responsibly for mission use.
- Proven ability to convert early interest into structured engagements (pilots, demonstrations, workshops) and drive them toward measurable outcomes.
- Excellent executive communication: concise writing, clear presentation skills, and the ability to simplify complex technical concepts without losing rigor.
- Active TS security clearance and ability to operate effectively in classified environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Experience supporting DoD/government buying centers (PEOs/PMs, service labs) and understanding of acquisition pathways.
- Experience with MBSE tool ecosystems (SysML tools, model repositories, digital engineering environments) and integration patterns.
- Experience supporting proposals/whitepapers/RFIs in defense or federal markets, including prime‑led bids.
- Background in cybersecurity considerations for software deployment in government environments (secure architectures, compliance constraints, risk communication).
- Public thought leadership track record (conference talks, panels, published writing, community leadership).
