Position: Data Scientist (All Levels) (Contingent)

Insight Xcite is seeking a Data Scientist to support a government client in Chantilly, VA. You’ll apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and data science techniques to deliver mission‑critical insights that directly support national security. This is a hands‑on role where you’ll transform complex datasets into actionable strategies, working closely with stakeholders to solve problems that matter.

Contingent Upon Award: This position is contingent upon contract award and/or funding approval. Candidates selected may be contacted for pre‑screening and qualification prior to award.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and algorithms to analyze large, complex datasets.
  • Build visualizations, dashboards, and reports that clearly communicate results to technical and non‑technical audiences, with a focus on automated ETL pipelines and self‑service analytics.
  • Partner with government stakeholders to identify opportunities for leveraging data to improve mission outcomes.
  • Apply advanced statistical methods, predictive modeling, and exploratory data analysis to solve mission‑critical challenges.
  • Provide documentation and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay current with emerging tools, techniques, and methodologies in data science.
Requirements
  • Active TS/SCI with Full‑Scope Polygraph (FSP) — non‑negotiable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL.
  • Strong background in statistical modeling, machine learning, and data wrangling.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to work both independently and in teams.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or PhD in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with big data tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud platforms.
  • Familiarity with complex ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, seaborn).
  • Proven ability to leverage GenAI via prompt engineering.
  • Prior consulting or government client experience.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
