Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support a mission-critical federal program in Chantilly, VA. This role operates within a secure environment and is responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing IT projects across their full lifecycle to ensure delivery of high-quality technical solutions that meet program objectives.
The IT Project Manager will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules and resources, and serve as the primary point of contact for project execution, reporting, and risk management.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute IT projects from initiation through deployment and sustainment.

• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables.

• Coordinate cross-functional technical teams, including engineers, developers, and testers.

• Track project progress, risks, and dependencies; implement mitigation strategies as needed.

• Serve as the primary interface between technical teams and stakeholders.

• Ensure projects comply with security, quality, and risk management standards.

• Support Agile and/or hybrid project execution, including sprint planning and reviews.

• Prepare and deliver status reports, metrics, and briefings to program leadership.

• Manage change requests, scope adjustments, and project documentation.

Mandatory Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience managing IT or technology-focused projects.

• Strong understanding of project management methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.

• Experience coordinating technical teams and managing schedules and deliverables.

• Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience working in secure or mission-critical environments.

Education Requirement

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.

• Equivalent professional experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting classified or mission-critical programs.

• Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA or similar project tracking systems.

• Experience managing software development or infrastructure projects.

• Knowledge of risk management, compliance, and governance processes.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
