Position: Intern - Accounting \u0026 Finance with Security Clearance
Koniag Government Services is looking for an Accounting & Finance Intern to support our Accounting team in Chantilly, VA. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Intern to support our finance team with daily accounting operations, financial analysis, and reporting tasks. This internship offers hands-on experience in real-world financial processes and is ideal for students or recent graduates looking to build a strong foundation in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities
* Assist with daily accounting activities such as data entry, reconciliations, and journal entries
* Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
* Help prepare financial reports
* Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
* Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
* Analyze financial data and help identify trends or discrepancies
* Support audits and compliance-related tasks as needed
* Perform ad-hoc finance and administrative tasks assigned by the team Qualifications
* Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
* Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Jamis Prime accounting software is a plus
* Strong analytical and numerical skills
* High attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
* Good communication and time-management skills Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
* Experience with ERP or accounting systems
* Familiarity with GAAP or IFRS
* Previous internship or coursework in accounting or finance What You'll Gain
