Join EY’s Sales & Use Tax Lookback Review Center of Excellence as an Indirect Tax‑Sales & Use Lookback Review COE Manager. This role brings a dynamic mix of technical tax expertise, client collaboration, and opportunities to advance your career within a globally connected, diverse environment.
Key Responsibilities- Lead multi‑state sales and use tax recovery projects for large, sophisticated clients.
- Provide up‑to‑the‑ tax advice and structured solutions that clients can rely on.
- Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams, stakeholders, and mentors to deliver high‑quality results.
- Build long‑lasting client relationships through research, analysis, and client‑focused communication.
- Identify potential over payment opportunities, monitor tax law changes, and develop intelligent recovery plans.
- Prepare, defend, and manage sales and use tax refund claims for multiple client engagements.
- Manage project budgets, teams, and timelines, ensuring projects stay on scope and budget.
- Strong research and analytical skills to uncover client operations and tax risk.
- In‑depth knowledge of sales and use tax rules, exemptions, and exclusions.
- Exceptional client communication and relationship building capabilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and prioritize tasks.
- Collaboration and teamwork across cross‑functional and global teams.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to EY values.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline.
- Professional knowledge of sales and use tax processes, concepts, and tools.
- Experience managing budgets, people, and projects in a professional services setting.
- Excellent technical writing, research, and tax communication skills.
- Strong influencing skills and confidence to question and improve processes.
- Willingness to travel as needed, working in a balanced hybrid environment.
- CPA qualification or other professional tax certification (e.g., CMI, state bar).
