About the Role
We're hiring a Water Resources Project Manager on behalf of our client, a reputable engineering firm located in Chantilly, VA. This role is ideal for a licensed civil engineer with extensive experience in stormwater design, floodplain analysis, and dam safety projects. If you're passionate about sustainable infrastructure and mentoring future engineers, this is a great opportunity to lead a high-impact team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage stormwater design, construction, and maintenance operations for a variety of facilities, including green infrastructure and underground systems.
- Lead hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for floodplain and dam analyses, including breach and inundation studies and emergency planning.
- Oversee construction inspections and stormwater operations and maintenance programs.
- Supervise and mentor junior engineers, serving as both a team leader and technical expert.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies, manage client relationships, and ensure timely project delivery.
- 6+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on water resources
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- PE license in Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and H&H modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-8)
- Strong organizational, quality control, and mentoring skills
- Preferred:
Experience with Arc Map and writing proposals
