Job DescriptionParsons is looking for a Machinist to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will be able to provide technical support to the customer's fabrication and manufacturing shops. The candidate must have demonstrated experience designing, programming, and manufacturing metal, plastic, and composite components.
What You'll Be Doing- Design and machine custom pieces and parts.
- Identify and implement strategic improvements and solutions that are in line with the customer’s vision and mission.
- Create and manage schedules for prioritized, approved work requirements.
- Ensure industry and customer standards and best practices are followed for all requirements.
- Provide detailed guidance on proper use, general machine maintenance, and minor repairs to shop equipment.
- Oversee the management of consumables and procurement support.
- Provide inputs on shop safety best practices and maintenance of the shop safety plan, to include application of OSHA standards.
- BS degree and 10+ years of prior relevant experience; additional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- 10 years of demonstrated experience in the metal working discipline(s).
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in mechanical skills instruction.
- Possess Machine Certification from an apprentice program.
- Demonstrated CAD/CAM experience.
- Demonstrated ability to aid others in design and troubleshooting of mechanical component designs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple taskings and adapt quickly to changing requirements.
- Demonstrated experience working independently, as well as part of a team, including strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience and literacy with Microsoft Office suite.
- Must have a current/active TS/SCI with poly clearance.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Feature Cam.
- Demonstrated knowledge of metal finishing processes to include anodizing, painting, and powder coating.
An active Top Secret SCI w/Polygraph security clearance is required for this position.
