- Field observations at jobsites in the region.
- Sampling and testing of construction materials.
- Preparing accurate daily logs that outline inspections and results of the tests performed on construction materials (soil, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel).
- Daily communication with project manager or operations manager regarding project progress or other pertinent communication by the contractor.
- Reliable vehicle for field work, valid driver’s license, and satisfactory driving record.
- Ability to meet additional pre‑employment criteria.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 60–80 pounds (soil and concrete samples, nuclear gauges, other equipment).
- Ability to work in all outdoor climates and navigate various terrain.
- Attention to detail and quality while adhering to all safety requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Use of company‑provided tablet and working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to perform basic math and use measurement tools.
- With training, ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
