ABOUT THIS APPRENTICE PROGRAM
The Cheese Specialist Apprentice Program takes place over 3 months. During this time, the apprentice will work with three different Cheese Specialists learning all aspects of cheese. The program is tailored to the individual, whether you have five years of cheese experience, or just a passion for cheese, through this program the apprentice will learn all they need to run their own cheese counter!
In addition, our cheese counters act as a destination for event planning and food pairing professional suggestions. You will gain expertise in creative merchandising, global product offerings, as well as creating a sensational shopping experience for our customers. You will also have the opportunity to work with local vendors, represent our company at community events, and continue your education and training in the area of cheese.
& Byerlys Chanhassen – Full‑time Cheese Specialist Apprentice
We operate 7 days/week and are open from 6:00am‑10:00pm. For this position the employee would be scheduled a range of shifts between 9:00am‑6:00pm. This full‑time role earns a competitive wage of $21.50 and offers a number of benefits and perks.

- Greeting customers and assisting them with specialty cheese purchases
- Learning how to educate customers on specialty cheeses
- Learning how to manage cheese inventory
- Learning how to create enticing product displays and sampling assortments
- Evaluating and ensuring product quality and selection
- Collaborating with other departments on marketing and demonstration ideas
- Maintaining cleanliness of the department
- Team player – steps in to assist when and where as needed

- Required:
High school diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year’s experience in food service preferred
- Computer Skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, facility ordering software)
