Real Estate Attorney, Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Our client is seeking a Paralegal – Property Development to support the legal and business teams focused exclusively on property development activities. This role partners closely with attorneys and internal stakeholders to support real estate transactions, development initiatives, and ongoing property management matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review, revise, and analyze leases, letters of intent (LOIs), amendments, declarations, easements, and other real estate and development-related agreements
- Review title and survey documents, draft title objection letters and internal memoranda, and coordinate with sellers, title companies, surveyors, and landlords
- Review and analyze purchase agreements, prepare comprehensive closing checklists, draft closing documents, and coordinate internal and external parties to ensure timely closings
- Prepare first drafts of simple purchase agreements, lease amendments, and related correspondence for attorney review
- Support attorneys, paralegals, and business partners across all aspects of real estate development, property management, and lease administration
- Track and manage critical contract dates and deadlines
- Review due diligence materials and respond to due diligence requests
- Review and assist with joint venture agreements and property management agreements
- Draft first versions of less complex property management agreements and amendments
- Analyze real estate and broker licensing requirements for Life Time Living and Life Time Stay business lines in new jurisdictions
- Track the status of real estate and broker licenses and permits across multiple jurisdictions
Required Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of experience as a Real Estate Paralegal, preferably in an in-house environment
- Proven experience reviewing and analyzing:
- Leases
- Purchase agreements
- Title and survey documents
- Hands-on experience preparing for and managing real estate closings
- Strong understanding of real estate and broker licensing requirements
- Experience with joint ventures and property management agreements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines independently and within a team
- Self-motivated with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal business partners
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Web Ex, Smartsheet, and Power Point
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (A.A. required; B.A. preferred)
- Experience in both law firm and in-house legal environments
