Indigo Signs is seeking an experienced Painter to join our custom sign manufacturing team. This role is responsible for preparing, painting, and finishing metal and fabricated sign components to meet high-quality standards. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience painting metal surfaces, sign plastics, wood, and other various substrates, understands fabrication processes, has a desire to learn new skills, and works collaboratively within a fast‑paced sign manufacturing environment.

• Prepare metal and fabricated sign components for paint, including cleaning, sanding, grinding, masking, and priming.
• Apply paints, coatings, and finishes to metal surfaces using spray equipment and other tools as required.
• Mix paints and coatings according to specifications and color standards.
• Inspect finished products to ensure quality, consistency, durability, and adherence to Indigo Signs’ standards.
• Understand fabrication drawings and work closely with fabrication and welding teams to ensure proper sequencing of work.
• Maintain paint booth, tools, and equipment in safe and working condition.
• Follow all safety, environmental, and OSHA regulations related to paint materials, ventilation, and PPE.
• Assist with basic fabrication tasks as needed (cutting, grinding, assembling components).
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.
• Meet production schedules and deadlines.

• 2+ years of professional painting experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or sign production environments.
• Demonstrated experience painting metal surfaces (steel, aluminum, etc.).
• Working knowledge of fabrication processes, including welding, cutting, grinding, and assembly.
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings or work orders.
• Familiarity with paint systems, coatings, primers, and finishes used on metals, plastics, and other various substrates.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

• Experience in the sign industry or architectural/industrial metal finishing.
• Forklift or aerial lift experience (or willingness to be trained).
• Basic understanding of color matching and brand standards.

• Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Problem-solving skills and adaptability in a production environment.

• Manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to paint fumes, dust, and noise.
• Use of PPE is required.
