Job Summary
The Staff Augmentation Specialist works side-by-side with the client s caregivers, role modeling and coaching in the implementation of behavior support plans, data collection techniques, de-escalation and management strategies. Mount Olivet Rolling Acres – MORA – is a diverse and inclusive nonprofit that has supported adults, seniors and children with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs as well as age-related and chronic medical conditions for over 50 years in the Twin Cities metro.
MORA provides an array of services:
Adult Day Services, Contracted Case Management, Community Supports, over 30 Residential Homes, Respite, Therapeutic Recreation, Training for Guardians & Families, and a Discover Summer Daytime Programming for Youth with Disabilities. Our Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) offers a safety net of crucial and cost-effective services for adults and children.
Starting Pay Rate: $18.50 per hour
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Functions in various settings, including but not limited to family homes, group homes, day programs, and foster homes
- Trains clients, staff, family members, and day program personnel through role modeling and side by side coaching
- Works with clients with extremely challenging behaviors, including but not limited to physical aggression, verbal aggression, property destruction, manipulation, sexually inappropriate behavior, elopement and theft
- Supports to maintain a client’s current placements
- Supports to assist people in maintaining or returning client to a less restrictive setting
- Communicates information, observations, and ideas to the MCCP Behavior Outreach Specialists/Case Lead
- Timely documentation of daily case notes
- Works harmoniously with and shows respect for employees, supervisors, vendors and clients
- Performs other duties as assigned
- At least two years of direct care experience supporting persons with intellectual disabilities
- The ability to engage in physical activities such as non-aversive physical crisis intervention techniques
- One year of experience with extremely challenging behaviors, including physical aggression
- One year of experience with individuals with co-curing mental health diagnoses
- One year of experience training caregivers who work with individuals with intellectual disabilities
- Previous behavioral support training or experience with de-escalation & management strategies
- Flexibility in multiple environments and work hours/times
- High level of organizational skills and proven ability to work independently
- Must have knowledge of basic computer skills
- Must pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain “qualified” status
- Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General
- Must have a current valid drivers license and must have insurance as required by state law
