Job SummaryThe Midwest Food Bank Assistant position will work directly with Midwest Food Bank. This position will help with day to day operations of sorting and packing goods for distribution. This position will also have the opportunity to learn the ins and outs of the non profit by reporting directly to the Community Relations and Volunteer Manager. This could include attending organization meetings, events, and working on special projects.
This position will be required to work 1 day a week at Chandler‑Gilbert Community College in the Service‑Learning and Civic Engagement Program to help support community engagement efforts on campus.
This is a great experience for students in the Education, Culture & Society, Behavioral Science & Human Services Fields of Interest, but is open to all Fields of Interest.
Training and onboarding to the position will be provided by both the CGCC Service‑Learning and Civic Engagement program staff and the Midwest Food Bank staff.
Additional InformationIn order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. - FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
- FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
- FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
- The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.
