About
The Role
As an Electrical Apprentice at Zekelman Industries, you’ll support licensed electricians in the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems across industrial construction projects. This role is perfect for someone who’s eager to learn, has a strong work ethic, and is committed to developing hands-on skills in a fast-paced, safety-driven environment. You’ll gain valuable experience working with electrical systems, tools, and equipment while building the foundation for a future career in the trades.

What You’ll Do
- Assists licensed electricians by handling materials, prepping work areas, and supporting installations under supervision
- Performs conduit bending and helps install switch gear, panels, starters, and other electrical equipment
- Pulls, routes, and terminates electrical wire across job sites
- Installs lighting fixtures, controls, and electrical devices
- Troubleshoots electrical systems with guidance from supervising electricians
- Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follows all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage and hazard awareness
- Reads and understands safety rules, policies, and material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Supports work performed at heights or in confined spaces using appropriate ladders and equipment
- Travels to construction sites and performs physical labor as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by project leads or supervisors
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work sites
- Physically capable of lifting 50+ pounds, working at heights, and in confined spaces
- Willing and able to work in all weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold
- Comfortable working 40+ hours per week, with overtime and night shifts as needed
- Punctual, dependable, and detail-oriented
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers for manual tasks
- Able to work from ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms up to 90 ft
- Must own and bring required hand tools to the job
- Must apply for and maintain a Electrical Apprentice License
- Committed to safety and learning proper trade practices under supervision
- Frequent crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, and sitting
- Routinely lifts and carries heavy objects over 50 pounds
- Repetitive arm, hand, and finger movement for tool use
- Works in both open construction areas and confined environments
