Senior Oncology Account Manager overview

The Senior Oncology Account Manager is responsible for direct promotion of Jazz Pharmaceuticals' products, and the development and management of business relationships with therapeutic specialists within an assigned geographical territory. The Senior Oncology Account Manager (OAM) is an integral part of the commercial team that includes all personnel dedicated to the sales and marketing functions. The Senior Oncology Account Manager will implement Jazz Pharmaceuticals' marketing strategies and marketing tactics to achieve sales goals through short-term and long-term objectives.

This position reports directly to the Regional Sales Manager.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities
  • Strategic Account Management: Customer understanding; strategic planning; and leveraging dashboards, alerts, omnichannel reports, speaker programs, and conference attendance to meet objectives. Gain understanding of customer needs through thorough research and analysis; identify key stakeholders; and actively gain customer insights to provide timely feedback to cross-functional partners and regional sales management.
  • Strategic Planning: Define clear, measurable objectives; develop tailored strategies and tactics; determine required resources; continuously review and adjust plans based on activity and market conditions; implement customized account strategic plans with clear next steps and appropriate utilization of resources.

    Collaboration:

    Maintain an enterprise mindset with cross-functional collaboration; leverage partnerships with marketing, medical affairs and market access; engage with colleagues to meet customer and patient needs; share insights and best practices; lead as main point of contact for designated accounts when appropriate.
  • Selling Effectiveness: Promote Jazz Oncology products to physicians and healthcare providers; foster a network-selling mindset; stay current on industry trends and competitive landscape; adapt to new tools and resources; build and maintain strong relationships with key physicians and providers.
  • Product and Scientific Knowledge: Demonstrate clinical knowledge across the neuro-oncology therapeutic area; educate physicians about Jazz products and indications; respond to questions with clinical information per guidelines; challenge prescribers appropriately when needed.
  • Execution: Deliver commercial results compliantly using approved tools; organize and facilitate medical/product information meetings; represent the company at conferences and events; utilize CRM to manage interactions and territory records; maintain professional image aligned with policies; participate in special projects; comply with applicable regulations; manage budget allocations.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Experience
  • Four-year college/university degree
  • Minimum of 5 years in the oncology market
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with effective presentation style in face-to-face and virtual settings
  • Ability to meet territorial travel requirements

  • Post-graduate business school study, training
