Perform maintenance, overhaul and repair operations on APU using appropriate tooling as required. Requires working in various disciplines within the repair and overhaul shop.
Responsibilities- With general supervision tear down, inspect, and rebuild APU.
- Clean parts and assemblies as required.
- Prepare documentation, including findings and test data.
- Assemble equipment as required by the OEM maintenance manuals and other work instructions.
- Light painting and touch up of assemblies as required.
- Perform balance operations as required.
- Make setups and adjustments, holding tolerances to blueprint and work instruction specifications.
- Read and interpret maintenance manuals.
- Read, interpret and execute work instructions.
- May prepare reports and suggest improvements and modifications from data collected.
- Troubleshoots, repairs and services aircraft and engine systems.
- Conducts diagnosis of malfunctions.
- May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
- Maintains FAA required records, manuals and inspection forms.
- Follow all company policies including safety instructions.
- Maintain a neat and orderly workstation and promote overall good housekeeping practices.
- Other duties as assigned by manager.
Education and Experience
- 1-3 years mechanical experience involving similar equipment processes, measuring tools and assembly operations.
- 1-3 years prior Aerospace/manufacturing experience.
- Must possess the necessary hand tools to perform position responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of Gas Turbine Engines.
Education and Experience
- AA degree (or equivalent experience) in related discipline.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions.
The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
