Senior Manufacturing Engineer Technician
Qualastat Electronics, a Trexon company, seeks a dedicated Senior Manufacturing Engineer Technician for its Chandler, AZ location. As a Manufacturing Engineer Technician, you will tackle a diverse array of complex, detail‑oriented tasks and projects that support our staff and company.

Schedule:
Full Time, 9/80 Schedule
Week One:
Monday – Friday 6:00 am‑2:00 pm (overtime as required)
Week Two:
Monday – Thursday 6:00 am‑4:00 pm (overtime as required)
Pay: DOE
Responsibilities- Create and revise manufacturing travelers, visual work instructions, and process documentation from customer‑provided TDPs.
- Engage in internal training efforts to improve technicians' and assemblers' understanding of documentation and build expectations.
- Create or procure assembly aids as needed for production.
- Lead coordination between Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve manufacturability and design issues.
- Set up and oversee the use of test equipment, fixtures, tooling, and visual aids; provide training to others.
- Provide on‑the‑floor support and troubleshooting during first article, prototype, and legacy builds.
- Mentor and train technicians and assemblers to ensure clear understanding of documentation and build expectations.
- Lead or support RCCA activities related to internal quality issues or customer returns (RMAs), and report findings to the Engineering Manager.
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives through process audits and collaboration.
- Interface with vendors or customers, as needed, to resolve documentation or build‑related issues.
- Participate in ad‑hoc engineering and production‑related projects.
- Education: Associate’s degree or 5 years of related experience (preferred, not required).
- Experience: 5 years of related experience within a military or aerospace manufacturing environment (preferred, not required). Build‑to‑print manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge: Complex wire harness assembly and interconnect integration;
Solid Works, AutoCAD, or similar 3D/CAD tools; IPC/WHMA‑A‑620 and J‑STD‑001 (certification preferred);
Military and aerospace product standards; schematic interpretation, wiring, connector selection, overmolding, potting; root‑cause analysis and RCCA methodologies. - Skills: Mechanical aptitude; proficiency with hand tools (wire cutters, strippers, crimpers, etc.); ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings; familiarity with change orders, revision control, and configuration management; advanced soldering and fine‑pitch component assembly; mentoring and training ability; strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills; ERP/MES systems familiarity.
- Must be a U.S. person or able to comply with ITAR regulations for defense‑related programs.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Physical:
Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, writing, typing; occasional lifting up to 40 lbs and performing assembly‑related movements; PPE use as required.
