MORTGAGE LOAN ORIGINATORThe Mortgage Loan Originator will promote and provide business development, originate loans, and manage relationships with customers and clients in the Financial Services Branch.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Interview mortgage applicants to understand and educate them on financing options and advise on suitable loan programs.
- Be accessible to buyers and loan participants to answer questions and provide updates.
- Maintain reports and notes within origination software and CRM systems.
- Review new leads daily and contact them to secure business.
- Manage the daily pipeline from loan application to funding to ensure a smooth process.
- Make presentations on loan products in sales meetings and with sales staff in builder communities.
- Respond quickly to Operations to facilitate an efficient loan process.
- Provide necessary disclosures to loan applicants in a timely manner per regulations.
- Conduct all business professionally and ethically to serve customers and increase goodwill and profit.
- Be able to work overtime and travel overnight.
- Market the company’s products and services accurately to potential business sources.
- Develop sales leads for mortgages in builder communities and real‑estate offices.
- Provide weekend coverage at builder communities and grand‑opening functions.
- Review all borrower documentation for accuracy and address discrepancies.
- Comply with all QC policies, review updates to the manual, and attend meetings as required.
- Provide input to management and attend production/staff meetings.
- Assume occasional post‑closing/funding problem resolution.
- Attend loan closings when possible.
- Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university.
- One to two years of related experience or training.
- Must have a vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Licensed Mortgage Loan Originator as required by state.
- Possess a general mortgage banking understanding (lock procedures, program analysis, underwriting guidelines, regulatory timelines).
- Proficient with MS Office and email.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to process and record a large volume of data accurately and efficiently.
- Team player willing to accept constructive criticism.
- Bilingual preferred.
