Responsibilities- Perform RF network characterization and PCB de‑embedding with RF probes.
- RF probing skills mandatory for critical on‑laminate RF measurements of the full module and of the individual blocks in the RF path of the module.
- Setup, maintenance, and calibration of an RF test bench that includes a network analyzer, power supplies, and a digital pattern generator.
- Operation of a CNC milling machine to expose access to RF probe points internal to the device‑under‑test.
- Interpret and analyze S‑parameter measurements in various formats (Smith Chart, Log Magnitude, Phase) to determine the accuracy and precision of collected data.
- Consistently work on complex assignments requiring independent action and a high degree of initiative to resolve issues.
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
- Work from schematics, diagrams, and/or written or verbal instructions to assemble and test RF circuits and systems.
- Tune circuits to optimize performance and meet customer specifications, and assist in determining methods for continued quality improvement.
- Assist in the design, construction, testing, and debugging of test equipment.
- Collect, filter, and document large amounts of data.
- Benchmark measurements against known reference or gold data as part of the daily routine.
- Operate a source‑pull bench in a screen room to perform noise‑parameter measurements.
- Solder components on a PCB using a microscope when necessary.
- Build harnesses required to interface with evaluation boards.
- RF module assembly related skills are a plus.
- Be willing to contribute and help wherever needed in the lab.
- Associate degree in Electronics or an equivalent degree.
- At least 6 years of experience performing RF measurements in an engineering environment.
- Basic understanding of electronic component operation.
- Basic understanding of theoretical RF concepts such as S‑parameters, impedance matching, transmission‑line impedance, and electromagnetic fields.
- Strong mechanical skills to devise mechanical solutions for tasks.
- Proficiency in computer use.
- Good motor skills for working with small components and delicate RF probes.
- Attention to detail and carefulness; strong analytical skills; solid interpersonal and communication skills.
- Self‑starter who takes incoming assignments and works on them without being prompted.
- Team player capable of coordinating with other technicians to deliver outputs dependent on inputs from others (e.g., milling, assembly).
- Semiconductor device testing experience is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Experience with Spotfire and Win Cal.
- Experience with AutoCAD.
