About the Role

We are seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Mechanical and Energetics (M&E) team, supporting the design, analysis, and testing of advanced missile and launch vehicle systems. In this role, you will collaborate closely with analysts, design engineers, and program managers in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment to bring complex technologies from concept through qualification.

This position is based on‑site in Chandler, Arizona
, and offers the opportunity to work on high‑performance systems that have long‑term impact.

What You’ll Do
  • Perform a wide range of structural engineering tasks supporting the design, analysis, and testing of launch vehicle and missile systems with minimal supervision
  • Analyze and generate safety margins and factors for stress, stiffness, buckling, bolted joints, fracture, and other structural failure modes
  • Apply structural mechanics fundamentals to guide preliminary and final designs of primary and secondary flight structures and ground support equipment
  • Collaborate in a cross‑functional team environment to resolve structural integrity and performance issues
  • Develop and maintain proficiency in structural analysis tools such as FEMAP, NX NASTRAN, MathCAD, or similar software
  • Interpret and apply engineering specifications, standards, and customer requirements to meet program objectives
  • Produce clear, accurate engineering documentation and technical reports
  • Define appropriate test levels, instrumentation, and methodologies to support qualification and acceptance of flight hardware
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret test data, flight data, and material property data to support design decisions
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with 5+ years of relevant engineering experience, or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 3+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Strong background in structural analysis with demonstrated professional experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Working knowledge of finite element analysis (FEA), classical stress and strain methods, statics, and structural mechanics
  • Proficiency with standard computer tools (word processing, spreadsheets, technical documentation)
  • Strong ability to listen, take direction, show initiative, and complete tasks on schedule
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or PhD in a related engineering field
  • Experience with high‑performance flight or aerospace structures
  • Hands‑on experience with FEMAP, NX NASTRAN, or other FEA tools such as ANSYS or ABAQUS
  • Expertise in composite structures, fracture mechanics, or damage tolerance analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly
