Job Purpose
The Technical Operative is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of vending machines and smart cabinets to ensure they operate efficiently and reliably. The role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to support uninterrupted operations.
Responsibilities- Electrical & mechanical troubleshooting and fix where appropriate.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, including hardware malfunctions and software errors.
- Replace or repair faulty components to restore full functionality.
- Conduct regular servicing and inspections to prevent breakdowns and ensure machines are operating efficiently.
- Maintain a detailed maintenance schedule and service logs for each machine.
- Install and movement of equipment as required.
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts and tools required for repairs and maintenance.
- Goods receiving to include checking, counting and organisation of stock.
- Picking and packing customer orders to agreed time frames and order turnaround times.
- Delivery of items to points of use when required.
- Stock checks and cycle counting of products with pro-active approach to maintaining stock accuracy.
- Work with a series of computerised systems.
- Manage project deliverables and tasks to completion within specified time frames.
- Flexible, reliable, hardworking with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to use own initiative.
- Excellent attention to detail required.
- Problem solving aptitude.
- Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and network systems.
- Ability to diagnose issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
- Comfortable working in environments that require standing, bending, and lifting equipment.
- Strong technical ability a distinct advantage.
- Clear and concise in explaining technical concepts to non-technical personnel.
- Tech savvy individual with previous experience using software systems e.g. SAP, Microsoft Projects, Teamwork, etc.
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to deliver a high level of customer service.
- Flexible to take on additional duties as required.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently within deadlines.
