Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer – TS

Clearance:
Active DoD Top Secret Clearance required (TS/SCI with Poly eligible) – U.S. Citizenship Required.

The GNC Engineer will design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms, software, and simulation tools for guidance, navigation, and control of aircraft, spacecraft, submersibles, surface ships, missiles, launch vehicles, and upper stages during powered and coast phases of launch, flight, Earth orbit, interplanetary cruise, orbital insertion, and staging events.

Responsibilities include:

• Navigation functions: statistical processing of measured data points and substitution into simulation algorithms.
• Guidance functions: formulation of equations to achieve a desired position, orientation, or orbit.
• Control design: development of control laws and hardware/software requirements.
• Design, develop, implement, verify, and test high‑quality software and simulation tool chains.
• Working on a 6‑degree‑of‑freedom (6
  
  DOF) simulation to design and test missile flight code and models to evaluate system performance.
• Mission analysis on flight test and tactical systems.
• Mentor and train early‑career engineers.

Required technical skills:

• C++ programming (Linux environment)
• Python and MATLAB
• Experience creating, implementing, and testing missile autopilot, navigation, and guidance schemes.
• Experience in missile flight dynamics.
• Experience in high‑fidelity 6‑DOF modeling and simulation environment.

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and no years of experience.
• Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope.
• Expertise in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) engineering.
• Experience designing, implementing, and testing flight control algorithms.
• Experience working in a high-fidelity 6‑DOF modeling and simulation environment.

• Experience working with GNC systems for missiles.
• Proficiency in C++ development in a Linux environment.
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python tool chains.
• Master’s or PhD degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university.
