Field Service Engineer - EUV ASML – Chandler, AZ

Introduction to the job

As our Field Service Engineer, you will be an integral part of a team of engineers who assist our Customer Support (CS) organization in installing, repairing, and maintaining ASML systems at customer sites. You will ensure that our chip‑making systems work as they should and will be part of the technology innovation that moves the world forward.

You will be a technical expert who works with coworkers, customers, and field support to isolate and solve problems, maintain and optimize equipment on a daily basis, and enhance functionality while preventing problems. You will act as a resource for users on routine malfunctions and be responsible for transferring the necessary know‑how to the customer.

This position reports to the Site Manager and is part of the larger Customer Solutions & Support sector, where in‑fab installation and optimization of ASML products takes place.

Role and responsibilities
  • Install equipment at customer locations, including equipment with new features: unload components, inspect for damage, assemble, align, and test.
  • Analyze applicability, accuracy, and adherence to design specifications.
  • Evaluate and diagnose problems and make appropriate repairs, escalating when necessary.
  • Answer customer questions and assist customers in a professional manner.
  • Advise users on appropriate actions to correct malfunctions and may recommend changes in user procedures.
  • Perform administrative and coordination duties including pass‑downs, work orders, field service reports, system problem reports, and monthly reports. Prepare written technical reports independently.
  • Provide appropriate support and assistance to less experienced ASML personnel as necessary.
  • May require travel for cross‑site support with other ASML customer sites.
Education and experience

To help us tackle the technical challenges we face, you’ll need experience working on high‑tech products and complex processes. As a Field Service engineer, you’ll need:

Job Grade 04
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or the equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience will be considered.
  • Associate or technical degree with at least 2 years of technical experience will be accepted.
  • At least 2 years of experience using computer applications, including data‑analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is preferred.
Job Grade 05 – 06
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or the equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience will be considered.
  • An advanced degree (MS) with internship(s) experience will also be accepted.
  • 3+ years of experience in the installation, qualification, repair, and maintenance of ASML systems at customer sites is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience using computer applications, including data‑analysis tools, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software is preferred.
