Position

Summary

The Advanced Technology Group is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to support advanced technology projects across the globe. This role involves working as part of a multi‑discipline, highly interactive, and coordinated team focused on semiconductor manufacturing, data center facilities, and other state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facilities. The engineer will lead design activities for high‑tech infrastructure, including feasibility studies, long‑range planning, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and construction services for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a Global Subject‑Matter Expert (SME) for the Advanced Technology Group, leading and controlling the design of semiconductor tool installation projects.
  • Apply a strong understanding of the engineering lifecycle related to structural deliverables.
  • Work directly with clients, project managers, engineers, and architects to design coordinated best‑in‑class systems for advanced manufacturing, process, and R&D facilities.
  • Coordinate and collaborate in real time with mechanical, civil, architectural, and process disciplines to develop designs.
  • Independently lead plant design activities as an area/system leader and coordinate with multi‑discipline designers.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, and thrive in a fast‑paced team environment with multiple deadlines.
  • Produce detailed design of structures in steel, concrete, and masonry in accordance with BS, EN, and international codes.
  • Use a wide range of design software, backed by hand calculations.
  • Collaborate with REVIT & CAD technicians to produce quality design deliverables.
  • Exercise judgment in developing plans or alternatives and work with teams to assure quality plans.
  • Perform field activities such as construction observation.
  • Review construction submittals for conformance with the intent of the contract and design documents.
  • Interact with process and piping teams to implement pipe‑stress coordination.
Education & Experience
  • Minimum qualification of BSc in Civil Structural Engineering or related engineering field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required, or on‑track to obtain P.E. in the near future.
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience performing industrial high‑tech facilities engineering design preferred; other industrial facilities systems design will be considered if the requirement is slightly lower.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and applicable engineering software.
  • Experience using REVIT in a BIM environment desirable.
  • Strong relevant engineering/design experience in industrial/advanced technology sector.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Knowledge of electrical design standards, National Electrical Codes (NEC), NFPA, and applicable international building codes.
  • Ability to interact with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors at all levels, and to work with remote teams in different time zones and geography.
  • Local candidates preferred; relocation considered for candidates with directly related experience.
  • Ability to provide valid work authorization for US employment.
