Facilities Electrical Engineer

Location: Wilton, Connecticut

Pay range: $/yr - $/yr

As a facilities electrical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semiconductor-based manufacturing. You will collaborate with on-site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity, including assessment of systems, consulting system owners and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders. Your responsibilities include designing, developing, evaluating, and preparing recommendations with basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW) documents, in addition to design, construction and specifications documents through the positional (programming) process with a team.

You will also oversee engineering and construction for the facility power distributions system work (up to 13.8kV), grounding, lighting, emergency and standby generation systems, life safety systems, and fire alarm and detection systems, including retrofits of existing building systems as well as new systems.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including power distribution up to 13.8kV, grounding, lighting, emergency and standby generation.
  • Prepare basis of design (BOD), scope of work (SOW), design, construction and specification documents.
  • Oversee engineering and construction in collaboration with contractors, site personnel and client stakeholders.
  • Review vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications.
  • Interact with client, contractors and site personnel in Wilton, Connecticut.
  • Conduct field visits and work with subcontractors and construction personnel.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an ABET accredited university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical systems, including distribution to end use.
  • Solid knowledge and application of electricity requirements per NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and related standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience.
  • Knowledge in procedures for specifications and selection of all types of electrical equipment and hardware.
  • Working knowledge of PLC, DCS and other controls applications.
  • Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
  • 5 years of experience as a facility engineer.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation & controls design deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams and control narratives.
  • Experience with control panel design, including UL508A requirements.
  • Proficiency with electrical modeling software such as SKM Power Tools, ETap, Easy Power.
  • Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM
    360.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Forward‑thinking, eager to learn best practices and contribute innovative ideas.
  • Passionate about buildings and construction.
Location & Work Requirements
  • This is an on‑site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT.
  • Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday‑Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility.
Physical Requirements
  • Field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
Authorized to Work
  • Applicant must complete background check, drug screen and be fully authorized to work in the United States. This position does not sponsor visas.
