Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Simulation & Flight Controls Engineer

Syber Jet is an up-and-coming aircraft manufacturer dedicated to pushing the boundaries of innovation and precision in the design and manufacturing of advanced aerospace systems and aircraft. Our team is committed to excellence, creativity, and continuous improvement in all aspects of our work.

Job Description

We are seeking a Simulation & Flight Controls Engineer to develop high-fidelity aircraft simulation environments, fly-by-wire flight control systems, aircraft stability models, and advanced autopilot control algorithms. This engineer will be responsible for full-aircraft plant modeling and real-time control system development supporting system architecture decisions, safety-critical performance validation, and certification activities.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in aircraft control theory, flight dynamics modeling, and simulation-based development, with an interest in next-generation automation and intelligent avionics systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and tune fly-by-wire flight control algorithms, including stability augmentation, autopilot control modes, outer-loop guidance, and envelope protection.
  • Build aircraft stability and handling-qualities models, including nonlinear 6-DOF physics-based flight dynamics and environmental effects.
  • Design and validate autopilot flight modes such as takeoff, climb, cruise, approach, landing, and emergency reversion.
  • Create high-fidelity aircraft plant models and digital twin simulations for propulsion, flight controls, power distribution, hydraulics, and environmental systems.
  • Perform software-in-the-loop (SIL), hardware-in-the-loop (HIL), and pilot-in-the-loop simulations for verification and validation of control algorithms.
  • Support Iron Bird and avionics rack simulation environments for integrated system test and evaluation.
  • Conduct mission-level simulation and Monte-Carlo analysis for performance prediction, robustness, reliability, and certification support.
  • Work collaboratively with software engineering teams to integrate simulation models with real-time embedded control software.
  • Perform data correlation against flight test results to improve fidelity and refine control models.
  • Generate technical documentation, validation reports, and certification artifacts aligned with DO-178C, DO-254, ARP
    4754A, ARP
    4761, and FAA handling-qualities standards.
Qualifications
  • Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience:

3-5+ years of experience in flight controls engineering, flight simulation modeling, or aerospace control systems development.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong understanding of control theory, aircraft stability and control, guidance/navigation concepts, and real-time embedded controls.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop models for aircraft performance, handling-qualities, or flight control system design.
  • Software Proficiency:
    • Proficiency in MATLAB / Simulink, flight dynamics modeling tools, and real-time simulation environments.
    • Familiarity with Teamcenter, Polarion, JIRA, Confluence, Git, ANSYS SCADE, or comparable tools.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Communication:
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Controls, Robotics, or related discipline.
  • Experience developing full-aircraft flight dynamics models, handling-qualities assessments, autopilot algorithms, or fly‑by‑wire implementations.
  • Experience with autonomous flight control modeling, AI‑enhanced control strategies, or path‑planning algorithms.
  • Experience with SIL/HIL test benches, pilot-in-the-loop simulation environments, or digital twin system development.
  • Familiarity with Distributed IMA avionics architectures and modern flight deck systems.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • A collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • The chance to work on cutting‑edge aerospace projects with a talented team of professionals.
