K-4 Grade Teacher

• Implements the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals.
• Guides student learning toward curriculum goals and communicates objectives to students.
• Assesses student performance and refers students for specialized help when necessary.
• Plans programs of study based on identified student needs.
• Employs instructional methods and materials appropriate for meeting objectives.
• Maintains accurate academic and attendance records; provides progress reports as required.
• Determines promotion or retention decisions; establishes a conducive learning environment.
• Supervises students during various times and enforces school rules and policies.
• Attends meetings and serves on school/district committees; collaborates with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Enforces course of study, uses adopted textbooks, and assists in selecting instructional materials.
• Establishes cooperative relations with others and engages in community activities.
• Prepares reports required by law, policy and administrative regulation.
• Performs other duties as directed by the Principal.

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Appropriate teaching certificate issued by the State of Arizona.

• Knowledge and skills related to effective classroom management, communication, and student development.
• Knowledge of activities supporting the daily supervised activities of students toward their growth.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively in writing and speech.

Salary range: $57,500.00 to $58,500.00 per year. Classroom Site Fund/Prop 301 (up to $7,000 included in the salary), up to 10 years of teaching experience. Additional salary options: BA+15hrs ($1,140), BA+30 ($2,280), BA+45/MA ($3,420).

Other possible payments (if eligible): $3,000 for National Board-Certified Teacher, $1,500 for BLE, $1,000 for ESL, $500 for Prov ESL. Performance Pay up to $3,000.00.

Hard-to-fill stipends: $2,000 for Special Ed Teacher, $1,500 for Math Teacher, $1,500 for Science Teacher, and $1,000 for Speech/Language Arts Teacher. Eligible for one hard-to-fill stipend.
