Safety Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Safety Specialist to lead and oversee safety programs across our construction projects. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and promoting a strong, proactive safety culture company-wide.

Responsibilities

• Implement and enforce company-wide and project-specific safety policies
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, local, and general contractor safety standards
• Conduct job site safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; develop corrective action plans
• Prepare written safety reports, audits, and recommendations
• Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs
• Maintain safety manuals, SOPs, reports, and inspection documentation
• Manage safety compliance systems such as ISN
• Support workers’ compensation claims and return-to-work programs
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies
• Assist with emergency response planning and site-specific safety plans
• Promote a safety-first mindset among all field personnel
• Oversee PPE and equipment inspections, calibrations, and records
• Coordinate with Project Management on safety budgets and invoicing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• 3-5 plus year of safety experience in the construction industry
• Proven experience as a Safety Manager in construction
• Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
• Excellent leadership, communication, and documentation skills
• OSHA 30 required (OSHA 500 a plus)
• Experience with ISN or similar compliance platforms preferred
