Assistant Project Manager – Commercial/Industrial Construction
Nitti Builders, LLC is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join their established and successful team.

The Assistant Project Manager (APM) at Nitti Builders plays a critical support role in the successful planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Working under the guidance of a Project Manager, the APM helps manage daily project operations, coordinates with subcontractors and suppliers, tracks project schedules and budgets, and ensures documentation is accurate and up to date.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, and eager to grow within a fast-paced construction environment. This position offers a clear pathway for advancement to a full Project Manager role.
This position requires dedication and a strong sense of accountability, with the ability to align with the executive team to contribute to the company's strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in design and construction, bringing dedication and thoughtful input to our projects. The full-time job involves both hands-on and administrative duties.
Job Summary
The Assistant Project Manager’s responsibility is to support the construction of projects and to assist in the completion of assigned construction Project goals of delivering the Project on schedule, within the budget, and to the quality of workmanship specified. The Assistant Project Manager is expected to always act in the best interest of Nitti Builders, taking all reasonable steps to fulfill their duties and uphold the company’s standards and objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the on-site staff and promote positive project morale.
- Work toward a thorough and complete knowledge and understanding of the General Contract, each Subcontract, the contract drawings, and specifications.
- Read, understand, and interpret Construction Plans and Specifications.
- To examine the contract drawings, specifications, and addenda for design deficiencies, impractical details, and possible code violations, and to bring these to the attention of the Project Manager, who will review them with the Architect.
- To assist the Project Manager in keeping the schedules properly updated and to ensure that the job meets the various required dates.
- To monitor and inspect the activities of the Subcontractors, Suppliers, and Nitti Builders labor and material.
- Collects Project close data and assembles Closeout Documents as the Owner Contract requires.
- Assist PM with:
Owner Contract
Subcontract preparation
RFI preparation and management
Pay Applications
Risk identification and mitigation
- Manages submittal and procurement processes to prevent impact to the construction schedule.
- Documents and tracks RFI’s for minimal impact to project cost and schedule.
- Master schedule update with PM/Superintendent input.
- Collect, categorize, and document schedule delay information/data, including NOAA weather data.
- Assist Project Superintendent with:
Master schedule update from PM/Superintendent input.
Preparation of pre-punch and punch lists.
- Utilize the opportunity to participate in Project Teams to:
Acquire ever-increasing knowledge of the construction process.
Project management to increase the value to future Project Teams
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degrees in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Applicants with relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered. - Current position:
Project Manager or Assistant Project Manager. - 1-3 years of construction experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Engineer
- Basic knowledge of building systems and construction methods.
- Knowledge of Tilt Construction/Earthwork/Paving/Site Utilities/Electrical/Roofing/Hybrid Roofs preferred.
- OSHA 30, Dust Control, CPR/First Aid Certifications
- Microsoft Word, Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam,…
