Overview
The Splash Pad Facility Attendant is a seasonal position that is primarily responsible for the maintenance, customer service, safety, and overall operations of the Splash Pad under the general supervision of the Recreation Supervisor and/or Recreation Manager. This position will include some light janitorial duties, concession stand sales, and manage shelter rental schedule. This position will interact with the public, businesses, and other groups in a professional, courteous, safe, and respectful manner.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring Splash Pad and enforcing Splash Pad rules.
- Establish a friendly and positive rapport with facility customers, vendors, employees, general public, and promote a respectful and friendly environment for all in the facility.
- Responsible for maintaining and basic cleaning the Splash Pad concession and area such as but not limited to sweeping and mopping floors, garbage collection, cleaning all surfaces (table, chairs, benches, etc.) and spills, and cleaning restroom, weed whipping, and picking up litter.
- Report any potentially dangerous conditions, accidents, and damage to the Recreation Department.
- Responsible for maintaining safety procedures, such as but not limited to monitoring weather, first aid kit supplies, and enforcing rules.
- Responsible for updating and enforcing Picnic and Shade Shelter Rental schedule.
- Operate cash drawer by preparing daily cash and count cash drawer at opening and closing, and depositing money into safe.
- Perform opening and closing procedures of the Splash Pad facility.
- Operate and maintain concessions stand and area, and the handle the sales of products.
- Complete all necessary paperwork including daily usage and deposit reports.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Knowledge of splash pad practices and procedures.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with general public and staff while displaying political agility and discretion.
- Ability to follow-through with work assignments, provide self-direction, and maintain safety procedures.
- Ability to provide good customer service skills to a diverse customer base and effectively communicate with customers, general public, staff, and others.
- Ability to work independently, making decisions based on established City policy, standards and requirements.
- Knowledge of shelter rental schedules and procedures.
- Available to work weekday daytime and evenings, and weekend shifts.
- Must be 15 years old or older.
- Must have customer service skills.
- Must be able to physically perform all essential duties of the position.
- Certified in First Aid/CPR.
- Prior splash pad experience.
- Prior concession stands and/or customer service experience.
Shifts can vary during operating hours from Monday through Sunday daytime and evening shifts.
SupervisionDoes not have any direct reports. This position works independently with minimal supervision.
Working ConditionsPossible exposure to inclement weather conditions. Duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, walking for prolonged periods of time; kneeling, climbing, bending, and stooping, moderate lifting and carrying; general manual dexterity; adequate hearing, vision, and speech required; and must be able to evaluate situations and react appropriately.
