Fitness Assistant

General Function

In order to deliver quality fitness services and facilities for the YMCA members and clients, the Fitness Assistant is responsible for providing a safe, clean and friendly environment. The Fitness Assistant must be self-motivated, knowledgeable and sociable in order to assist members and provide superior service.

The nature of this position requires physical efforts such as setting up equipment and moving equipment including plates up to 100 pounds.

• Assisting with preventative maintenance
• Attending all regular trainings and meetings
• Cleaning and maintaining the fitness area
• Providing assistance to members
• Greeting all members as they enter the floor
• Adhering to all opening and closing procedural checklists
• Responsible for setup and function of the facility including weights, racks, machines and all fitness accessories
