Overview

The Case Manager II at the Youth Assessment Center (YAC) supports youth aged 10-17 who are at risk of involvement with the criminal justice system. The YAC serves as a centralized resource hub where families, schools, service agencies, and law enforcement can refer youth facing challenges such as behavioral issues, bullying, and other factors that may contribute to risk. Utilizing the principles of Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ), this role involves conducting timely assessments, providing resource referrals, and connecting youth to appropriate services with the goal of fostering restoration and positive community engagement.

The Youth Assessment Case Manager will work closely with youth to enhance decision-making and problem-solving skills, manage stress, reduce impulsive behaviors, improve communication, manage anger, build self-esteem, set goals, develop emotional intelligence, and increase financial literacy. Additionally, the role includes connecting youth to partner agencies for further community support and resources.

Schedule and Worksite

Schedule:

37.5-hour work week, with 7.5-hour workdays between 10:30 AM and 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Flexibility will be necessary to meet program objectives.

Status and Compensation
Status:
Full-Time/37.5 hours per week
FLSA Classification:
Non-Exempt
Starting Wage Range (dependent upon experience): $21.48 - $22.50

Responsibilities
  • Conduct timely assessments of youth and refer to appropriate services.
  • Provide resource referrals and connect youth to partner agencies for community support.
  • Utilize Balanced and Restorative Justice (BARJ) principles to foster restoration and positive community engagement.
  • Support youth in developing decision-making, problem-solving, stress management, communication, anger management, self-esteem, goal setting, emotional intelligence, and financial literacy skills.
Qualifications
