We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on Regional Plant Operations Technician to help ensure our long-term care facilities across Illinois operate at their best every day. Responsibilities- Partner with on-site maintenance teams to oversee daily facility operations.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and other building systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure safety, reliability, and efficiency.
- Manage and test fire safety systems, including alarms, sprinklers, and emergency lighting.
- Assist in installing and upgrading facility equipment and systems.
- Support capital improvement projects and recommend needed repairs or replacements.
- Keep detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance work.
- Respond quickly and effectively to emergency maintenance situations.
- Perform general maintenance such as painting, patching, carpentry, and minor drywall repair.
- 7+ years of plant operations or facilities management experience.
- 3+ years working in long-term care or skilled nursing environments (required).
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills — you know how to stay calm under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between facilities.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications preferred.
- Physically capable of lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces as needed.
