SUMMARY: Provides quality nursing services to meet each resident’s needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Resident Care and Assessment: Conduct daily rounds, review shift reports, monitor compliance, and assess admissions.
- Care Delivery: Provide resident care, record vital signs, track intake/output, administer medications, and use equipment.
- Care Planning: Assist in care plans, communicate goals, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families.
- Communication: Inform residents, physicians, families, and staff of incidents, injuries, or changes.
- Staff Training and Development: Orient new staff, observe, identify learning needs, and facilitate teaching.
- Documentation: Complete required documentation of care and incident reports.
- Reporting and Compliance: Report resident risk factors and behavioral changes to the Director of Nursing.
- Survey Process Participation: Assist in survey readiness and corrective action plans.
- Safety and Emergency Response: Ensure compliance with OSHA, blood borne pathogen protocols, and conduct drills.
- Quality Assurance and Policies: Perform quality assessments and update policies.

Maintain current knowledge through continuing education. - Physical Requirements: Stand, sit, stoop, push, pull, lift up to 75 pounds, bend, climb, twist, walk, run, carry, listen, talk, and use medical equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Directly supervises nursing personnel, including interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluating performance. May address complaints and take disciplinary action. Indirectly supervises staff involved in resident care.
EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE:
- Graduate of a nursing program.
- At least one year of related experience preferred. Meets state and federal requirements.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Licensed as an LPN or RN in the appropriate state.
