SAU#53 is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and resourceful Special Education Teacher to deliver services and case manage students in the charter school setting and for preschool outreach services. This role focuses on supporting young children with disabilities in community settings such as child care centers, preschools, and at local charter schools. This teacher will provide direct early intervention services, specially designed instruction, collaborate with families and caregivers, and work closely with community partners and IEP team members to ensure inclusive and developmentally appropriate educational opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and coordinate special education assessments and evaluations for preschool-aged up to middle school aged students in a variety of settings.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) in collaboration with families and interdisciplinary teams.
- Provide direct special education services to children in natural environments such as daycare centers, community preschools, and local charter schools.
- Coach and support caregivers and educators to implement strategies that promote inclusion and positive developmental outcomes.
- Monitor and document child progress and adjust instructional methods and goals as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between families, community programs, and school districts to facilitate service coordination and smooth transitions.
- Maintain accurate and timely records in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional learning.
:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Early Childhood Special Education, or a related field.
- Valid state certification in Early Childhood Special Education is required, additional certification of General Special Education would be beneficial.
