Head Start Teacher

Overview

The Head Start Teacher is responsible for providing leadership in the classroom and carrying out a developmentally appropriate educational program to meet the individual needs of each child and Illinois Early Learning Standards. An important role of the Teacher is to provide leadership for our students and by creating a positive learning environment where Head Start children gain the skills, knowledge, and attitudes that lead to future school success.

• Provide leadership in the classroom and implement developmentally appropriate educational activities aligned with Illinois Early Learning Standards.
• Create and maintain a positive, engaging, and safe learning environment for Head Start children.
• Foster skills, knowledge, and attitudes that lead to future school success.
• Support and welcome families; uphold safety for staff, families, and children.

• Ability to fulfill all DCFS requirements, including a physical and criminal background check.
• AA or BS in Early Childhood Education.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
• Demonstrated exemplary attendance and dependability.
• Ability to practice civility at all times.
• Applicants must have a passion for children and families and the ability to support their success for self-sufficiency.

• Starting Hourly Wage: $19.00 - $20.00 (CDA)

• $26.91 - $27.91 (MS)
• DOQ (Depending On Qualifications)
