The Supportive Housing Specialist (SHS) skillfully provides strengths based support to persons living in a permanent supportive housing (PSH) setting and assists with all aspects of compliance with contract and regulatory requirements. The Supportive Housing Specialist implements complex requirements of the grant projects and provides effective service delivery that complies with contract and regulatory requirements and meets or exceeds project's targeted outcomes.

The SHS will have a specified client/resident caseload and ensure coordination of client needs, bringing expertise in one or more of the following areas: mental health, homelessness, addictions, developmental disabilities, domestic violence, employment services, motivational interviewing and the strength-based prospective. Experience with employment services or housing preferred.

  • Collaborate with 3

    Keys Property Management Staff and agency partners to ensure 100% occupancy in PSH and promotes residents success in maintaining permanent housing through advocating, referring, and providing social support.
  • Complete initial assessment, resident screening, tenancy requirements and regular support for program participants in Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH).
  • Assist with goal development and attainment including mental health treatment, budgeting, medication compliance, etc.
  • Assist in acquiring transportation (i.e., MARTA passes, Half Fare Cards, etc.) to medical appointments.
  • Advocate for the acquisition of community resources such as food banks, ensuring coordination of services.
  • Interpret and enforce established occupancy rules and regulations established by 3

    Keys Property Management.
  • Implement emergency response procedures and notifications in case of resident crisis, injury, death or other circumstances.
  • Collaborate with team members and partner agency colleagues to identify, establish and implement processes that will ensure efficient operation of grants, programs and services.
  • Assist residents to further develop the competencies he or she may need to increase and enjoy social support networks.
  • Advocate on behalf of the resident where underserved or oppressed.
  • Assist in the development of social support systems, daily living skills, and budgeting skills.
  • Role Model daily living skills when appropriate.
  • Conduct unit inspections to ensure residents are maintaining their housing in a clean, safe and decent environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to facilitate and organize resident activities focusing on developing group interactions and leadership skills.
  • Link residents with zero income to benefits/entitlements when appropriate (i.e., social security, SNAP benefits, TANF, etc.).
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation on all clients sufficient to fulfill program evaluation and reporting obligations. Work within HMIS data systems for data input and management.
  • Assist with the cleaning of HMIS data for SPC Reimbursement submissions and annual performance report submissions.
  • Maintain all program records in a timely fashion, producing monthly and/or quarterly reports to appropriate funding and monitoring agencies (e.g. DCA, AHA, etc).
  • Facilitate resident participation in property management, resident organization, educational and safety presentations.
