Manufacturing ​/ Production Operator, Manufacturing Production

The Operator I is responsible for operating Potassium Hydroxide (KOH) production. Duties include loading/unloading bulk chemical trailers, operating the production facility via HMI, conducting laboratory QA/QC testing, and performing maintenance on plant equipment and areas.

• Primary ResponsibilitiesMonitor tank levels, flow meters, gauges, pressures, and related controls via HMI and control systems.
• Record operating conditions and ensure process specifications are met; diagnose and correct basic operational issues.
• Load and unload hazardous and non-hazardous materials from tanker trucks using pumps and transfer hoses per SOP.
• Perform manual labor, including cleaning filter presses and plant areas.
• Collect samples and conduct routine tests (e.g., fluoride concentration, pH, specific gravity, KOH titration); maintain QA/QC records.
• Prepare chemical solutions for water analysis and maintain chemical inventory.
• Enter data into databases and spreadsheets; prepare shipping paperwork and certificates of analysis.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment (pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, etc.).
• Conduct safety inspections and report findings; maintain cleanliness of equipment and facilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Education: High school diploma or equivalent; ability to read, write, and comprehend English and perform basic math.

Skills:

• Proficiency in PPE use (respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment).
• Ability to operate and maintain pumps, valves, mixers, conveyors, blowers, and related equipment.
• Basic PC skills (MS Word, Excel, Access).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Experience: 1–2 years in a related position and environment.

• 100% operations environment; may work outdoors in inclement weather.
• Exposure to hazards: fumes, chemicals, heavy machinery, high pressure, extreme temperatures, slippery surfaces, electrical equipment.
• Physical requirements:
  
  standing (25%), walking (75%), lifting up to 50 lbs (occasionally 60 lbs), climbing ladders/stairs, confined space entry, respirator use.
