The ROI Specialist is responsible for providing support at various client sites for Release of Information (ROI) requests for patient medical record requests.

• Determine records to be released by reviewing requestor information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and obtaining pertinent patient data from various sources.
• Answer phone calls concerning various ROI issues.
• Respond to walk‑in customers requesting medical records and log information in the ROI On‑Line database.
• Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis and fax information to the office.
• Log medical record requests into the ROI On‑Line database.
• Scan medical records into the ROI On‑Line database.
• Comply with site facility policies and regulations.
• Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Proficiency in computer applications; 1+ year of experience entering data into computer systems.
• Experience using the internet.
• Ability to work independently and meet production goals.
• Strong verbal communication skills; proven success responding to customer inquiries.
• Attention to detail.
• Dependability.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Prior experience in Release of Information is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is preferred.
• Ability to travel between facilities.
• Valid driver’s license.
