Overview Of Role

Location: Biggleswade
Shift Pattern: Day shift 4-on-4-off, 6am-6pm
Closing date: 11th March 2026

We’re looking for a Shift Leader to join our friendly and ambitious team. As part of the ABF group, we have big plans for the next five years, you’ll play a key role in shaping our future. The role is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to be responsible for the day-to‑day shift management of a shift team, leading and motivating them whilst ensuring that we meet challenging customer demands and business objectives on time, to the required standards.

The Shift Leader working pattern would require full flexibility across the week as it is worked on a 4 on 4 of rotation. For example, one week you would work Monday to Thursday, then the following week would be Tuesday to Friday. This will be day/night shift only, working 6am-6pm/6pm to 6am
.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead boldly — Leading and developing the team to high performance through recruitment, training, coaching, communication, and motivation.
  • Stay curious — Proactively promoting a continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Do the right thing together — Ensuring adherence to safe systems of work, protecting the health and safety of yourself and others and maintaining food safety culture and quality standards, ensuring legal, customer, and certification requirements are met.
  • Make it happen — Delivering Production, Efficiency, and non‑productive hours targets (KBIs) and turning improvement ideas into action, not just identifying opportunities but implementing solutions.

  • Experience of working in an environment that has Health and Safety as a high priority, ideally where behavioural safety has been rolled out.
  • Experience with in FMCG production environment and managing teams.
  • Able to demonstrate the successful management and delivery of improvement projects.
  • Able to demonstrate effective people management skills.
