Performs first Article Inspections per AS9102 and Carlisle’s own work instructions and processes. Will assist the FAI II and FAI III team with AS9102 documentation set‑up, retrieving certifications from the system and working with purchasing to resolve any missing or incorrect certifications. May be required to perform simple mechanical inspections and record on the appropriate AS9102 form. This position reports directly to the Quality Control Supervisor.

• High School Diploma or GED
• Aptitude to read a wide variety of blueprints
• Some understanding of AS9100 and ISO
  9001 is preferred
• Some working knowledge of inspection techniques and instruments
• Excellent reading, writing and mathematical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure to meet time schedules
• Ability to work overtime, as needed
• Aptitude in creating AS9102 first‑article reports
• Ability to work effectively with all employees and supervisors
• Computer skills, experience and knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Other duties as required in support of the department and the company

• A high school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED, vocational school diploma)
• 1+ years of experience as a quality control inspector or in a relevant role is preferred
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and dimensioning tolerancing per ASME Y14.5M
• Background in aerospace, defense, or cable assembly industries favored

• Active IPC‑WHMA‑A‑620 certification preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Conversational ability in any other language is a plus

• Basic arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages)
• Statistics (interpret and analyze numerical data using statistical methods)
• Basic geometry (understand shapes, angles, lines, planes)

• Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite and Share Point
• Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP preferred
• Good knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5M
• General understanding of QA systems (ISO 9001 or AS9100)
• Technical knowledge to perform job at a high level
• Produces error‑free work the first time with little waste or rework

• Ability to communicate and interface well with Quality and other departments

The employee must sit for lengthy periods while frequently using their hands to handle objects and communicate verbally. They may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds.
